Nigeria’s UK Ambassador champions African unity and cohesion

By Milton Tella – In an effort to forge a united front, Nigeria High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, His Excellency, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola on the 15th of August, 2022, held a close door meeting with his counterpart, His Excellency Jeremiah Nyamane Mamabolo, South Africa High Commissioner to the United Kingdom at his Nigeria High Commission office, Northumberland Avenue London.

The two Ambassadors discussed areas of mutual interests and possible future cooperation between the two countries.

His Excellency, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola in his renewed efforts to continue to improve service delivery at the Nigeria High Commission London has continued to meet with different diaspora organisations and professional associations to encourage them to sensitise their members on services relating to passport renewals, Emergence Travel Certificates (ETCs), visas and other consular issues.

On Thursday 7th July 2022 the Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria  (ICAN) UK & District Society, Princess Adebimpe Kudehinbu led a team of her Executive Committee on a courtesy visit to Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, The Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom at his office in the Nigerian High Commission 9, Northumberland Avenue London. 



Ambassador Isola while receiving the delegates commended ICAN-UK district as a great ambassador of Nigeria in the UK. 

He noted that, among several issues the High Commission has dealt with, none has involved ICAN-UK members. He further charged ICAN-UK to use their professional experience to engage in advocacy that will promote the unity of Nigeria. 

Delegates from the district included: Adebimpe Kudehinbu – Chairman, Iliyasu Maisanda – Vice Chairman, Akintayo Ojo – General Secretary, 
Tayo Animashaun – Assistant General Secretary and Moses Peters – Technical Secretary.

Nigeria High Commission London has issued a public holiday notice, to inform the general public in the UK that the Mission will be closed on Monday, 29th August 2022, to observe the summer bank holiday in England and Wales while all services will however, resumes on Tuesday, 30th August, 2022.
