Movers and Shakers at the 23rd African Film Awards 2019

By Olayiwola Balogun – Africa’s most prestigious film awards featured the reactions of movers and shakers of the entertainment industry in London on Saturday, 2nd November 2019.

There were many interesting moments at the 2019 African Film Awards. Africa Alive presenters Doyin Ola and Sussie Retty at different times captured some of the many interesting reactions by some of the nominees and guests on the red carpet.

DJ Abass, CEO DJAMedia commended the pioneering role and the consistency of the African Film Awards ceremony and congratulated the organisers.

Cordelia Emeh, nominee for the Best Actress in Lead Role(UK Nollywood) who starred in My London Slave exploded with excitement and a tint of nervousness.

 

 

Labake Labake 2018 African Film award winner reminiscing in the glory of bagging the Best Actress in Lead Role(UK Nollywood) was full of hope and encouragement for her actress colleague Cordelia Emeh.

 

 

Mohammed Naoman, director of the short film Son Of The Janitor, from Egypt, was very happy, proud and extremely delighted to be among fellow filmmakers from other parts of Africa.

 

James Abinibi and Moses Olufemi director of the film Last Request and Producer & Script writer respectively were expecting a good networking evening with other African players in the film industry.

Actor David Ayinde was so excited to talk about his involvement in the new movie project by Rhoda Wilson a UK Nollywood producer.

 

 

Filmmaker Toyin Moore, a nominee for the Best Diaspora Feature Film was excited and looked forward to serious networking.

 

 

Twice a recipient of the African Film Awards, Alhaji Jamilu Yakasai, Sardauna of Kannywood and Chairman, Arewa Filmmakers Kano Chapter congratulated and praised the awards founder, Prince Mike Abiola for his consistency.

Chief Bimbo Folayan, former Chairman of CANUK, was very delighted to be in attendance and expected a classy awards ceremony.

Film enthusiast, Mrs Bose Peter Thomas was thrilled to be part of the African Film Awards year in year out. She was looking forward to having a fantastic evening with film stars.

 

Veteran actress Remi Oshodi expected everything glamorous and nice.
