High Commissioner of Nigeria to the United Kingdom, His Excellency, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola OFR received JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede at the Nigeria High Commission London

By Milton Tella – The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede and officials of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) were in the United Kingdom to attend various meetings in Manchester and other parts of the UK but took the opportunity to visit the High Commissioner of Nigeria to the United Kingdom, His Excellency, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola OFR, on Tuesday 24 January 2023 to register their presence in the country and to update him on developments within JAMB.

The registrar gave a history of how JAMB was established and how they had set up outposts to encourage students from other countries to come to Nigeria to obtain their university degrees.

He informed the High Commissioner and the Nigeria High Commission team that JAMB was entering into agreements with the Nigerian missions to identify and contract with suitable examination centres where candidates can write the exam, particularly in countries where they usually have a large number of candidates.

The Registrar emphasized that this is only necessary in countries or areas where the embassy does not have the facility to accommodate the number of candidates anticipated for the exams in that country.
He stated that this year’s JAMB examination would be held on May 30 in foreign centres, and would attract a £20.00 administration fee only.

The High Commissioner, Ambassador Isola pledged his continued support. He commended the management team for their loyalty and support.
He commended the registrar for being a visionary who fights corruption, and who moved the University of Ilorin and maintained that status throughout his tenure as Vice Chancellor.
The registrar presented the JAMB books, which have QR codes, which provide access to all the information regarding JAMB and the exams for the year.
