“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psa. 30:5.

By Michael Adekoya – Dear Reader, may I share some truths with you today? God can and He is able to bring you through situations you think you won’t survive, or through situations you feel you’ll be stuck in forever. He can make you comfortable in the most uncomfortable places, and give you peace in the midst of trauma. Listen; if you are a true Christian and you have a divine calling of God upon your life in ministry or in the market place, you are going to go through Gilgal, Bethel, Jericho and Jordan in the journey of your life. In the process, you may lose certain things, certain habits, certain thoughts or relationships which God has not ordained to be part of that journey.

Losing some things will actually help you to appreciate the things you still have. My friend, sometimes it is the taste of failure that makes success sweet. Right now, you may be living each day not knowing what tomorrow holds, but I’m here to encourage and challenge you to have the confidence that God has your tomorrows all planned out. Your tomorrow is not in the hands of your boss or your banker or your partner or your friend or your in-laws or anybody else. In fact, it is not even in your own hands to manipulate and control. No, your tomorrow and destiny are in God’s hands. Just because you don’t recognise the path you’re on doesn’t mean that God’s not leading you. Just because everything seem to be dark doesn’t mean that God is not working on your behalf now.

He promised, “… I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them” (Isa 42:16). My friend, did you hear that? So, get to know God personally – you’ll need Him at midnight hour and at any hour of your days on this earth. I know Him! He’ll be there for you. He’ll be there when everybody and everything else has failed you. He’ll be there for you in the dark places. ‘… His Word says, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning’ (Psa 30:5)). Hear me! God is there for you in the dark places – and we will all go through dark places. Think about your life. At one point, you may have been disappointed, betrayed or knocked down but by God’s grace you’ve always got up. Also, you’ll agree with me that no matter how dark the night, you’ve always lived to see the morning. God is the one who brought you through the night.

My friend, no matter what you may be going through right now, don’t stop believing God, don’t stop praying, don’t stop obeying the commands of God until you see the morning. Morning always come at the end of every dark night! At the end of every set-back, betrayal, disappointment, failure, defeat or denial, morning always comes. Don’t let anything stop you from believing that! And the Good News is that however long the night, morning always comes, and with it comes God’s joy. If you look back closely at your life, you will realise that His grace has saved you, protected you, provided for you, secured you, calmed you, comforted you and brought you through. Times and seasons change, even people change but not God! He is the same yesterday, today and forever! He is the unchangeable God! He’s always ‘the God of all comfort and He is with you.’ No one understands like Jesus. He knows all your struggles and needs.  If He has ever done something for you before, He’ll do it again

My friend, things might look so dark. In fact, it might look like you are in the midnight crisis. But, I have a Word for you! The miracle of rolling back the Red Sea happened ‘all that night’ (Exo 14:21). The deliverance of Paul and Silas from imprisonment or bondage happened at ‘midnight’ (Acts 16:25). The morning simply revealed what God had done the night before, while they were singing and praying to God. God works the ‘night shift’. Even though you might feel lost or alone, weary or depressed, worried or afraid, God is still on the job, working on your behalf (Rom 8:28) and working all things after the counsel of His own will’ (Eph 1:11). He neither sleeps nor slumbers. He is working all things together for your own good. So, why are you worried and sleepless? Have you heard a song in the night? Here is one of them: “When darkness seems to hide His face, I rest on His unchanging grace. When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay. On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand, all other ground is sinking sound”. My friend, hear me! You may not be able to see Him physically today, but His eyes are still on you.

Are you a student, or a young couple hard pressed financially, or a single-parent or a divorcee struggling to get back on your feet, or a business man/woman striving to breakthrough, or an oppressed person with sickness or infertility, or a demonic-bound person, or you’re a servant of God still labouring in difficult circumstances, or just lonely and in need of a companionship, or someone who is always facing attacks, persecution, hatred and accusation, or someone who has no relationship with Jesus Christ and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Is your marriage in trouble? Are your children wayward? Maybe you couldn’t meet your obligations? Are you confused and worried? Are you facing rejection everywhere? Maybe you always yield to the temptations of the devil? Do you find it difficult to find favour before God and man? Or finds it difficult to study the Word, pray and obey God’s instructions? Maybe you don’t believe in anybody behind the pulpit again. Do you find it difficult to achieve your God-given purpose? Maybe you don’t know your calling. Are you spiritually blind or ignorance? Or the promises of God are not manifesting in your life? Are you wondering when the time of your change would come? Maybe your faith is fading and you’re about to give up. Are people making mockery of you? Are you loosing hope?

My friend, are you in any of these situations?”, here are some words to help get you through till your morning comes: The Bible says, “I have been young, and now I am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken (have you?) nor his seed begging bread” (Psa 37:25). The Scripture declares,”…weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes (it’s on the way) in the morning” (Psa 30:5). The Word of God says, “In all these things (whatever you’re facing) we are more than conquerors through Him (Christ) that loves us” (Rom 8:37). The Bible says, “The unfailing love of the Lord never ends (even if that of your parents, spouse, friend, colleague, brothers or sisters ends)…His mercies never comes to an end…they are new and begin afresh each morning” (Lam 3:22-23). Has anybody disappoints or fails you? Jesus will not! The Bible says, “Though your beginning might be small (insignificant), yet your end will increase greatly” (Job 8:7). Listen, Paul says, “We glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulation works patience” (Rom 5:3).

My friend, what are you going through today? I have Good News for you – God is working on your behalf for good. It may look dark this night; light will appear in the morning. It may appear that God is silent on your case or affairs today but a voice will come in the morning. Stop worrying! Don’t be afraid! “Because you have made the Lord, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you (no matter what weapon the enemy and his agents are using), nor shall any plague come near your dwelling…” (Psa 91:9-11). Listen! The season you are in won’t last forever. A new season – new morning – with new peace, new joy, new blessings, new favour, new connection, new relationship, new experience and new happiness is here. Until then, always remember that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. It’s a new day! Remain blessed!
