By Milton Tella – Few hours to the touchdown of the Nigerian private airline, Air Peace maiden commercial flight to London Gatwick Airport, some 200 influential Nigerians in the United Kingdom had gathered in solidarity at a Business Cocktail Evening organised at The Clermont Hotel, Charing Cross, Strand, London.

The cocktail was organized by the Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS) led by Prince Bimbo Roberts Folayan, to welcome the Nigerian airline, Air Peace to London, after over seven years absence of a national flag carrier on a route many regard as one of the most lucrative in the aviation sector.

The news of the commencement of a direct Lagos to London Gatwick flight operation by a Nigeria carrier had spread like wildfire among Nigerians in the UK and expectations were very high. The excitement according to reports was attributed to what many termed exploitative charges by the foreign airlines.

Mr. Ikenna Nnabuife, Deputy Marketing Manager of the award-winning airline, Air Peace, said, “our vision is to be ever dependable through the creation of seamless connections and network options for our domestic, regional and international markets.

London service has commenced and we’re delighted to have achieved yet another feat in our drive to continually provide peaceful connectivity across cities.”
