Bento Kangamba is quoted by Globo.com: “It’s a certainty. We are negotiating, but Ronaldinho has to finish his contract with his current team and then he can join us in June.”

Kangamba added: “You may ask why I picked Ronaldinho. I want quality in my squad.”

A footballing nomad since the heady heights of a career that saw him heralded by many as the world’s best player, Ronaldinho joined Mexican side Queretaro last summer, although his contract is set to expire at the end of a troubled season. The club’s fitness coach has questioned the diminutive Brazilian’s commitment, suggesting he hasn’t been pulling his weight in training.

The 34-year-old, who was twice named FIFA World Player of the Year, has a large collection of medals, winning two La Liga titles and the Champions League with Barcelona and the Serie A title with AC Milan, as well as playing a key role in Brazil’s 2002 World Cup triumph.

If Ronaldinho does turn out for Kabuscorp, he will be following in the footsteps of fellow Brazilian World Cup star, Rivaldo, who played for the Angolan outfit in 2012.
