Mr Ian Richards has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the State of Eritrea. He will take up his appointment in July 2016.
Mr. Richards worked in Conakry in 2015, as Chargé d’Affaires; Migration Adviser, UKMIS Geneva and 2014, in Caracas as Deputy Head of Mission; Conakry (Chargé d’Affaires); Bamako (Chargé d’Affaires).
He has served at the London headquarters of the UK’s trade and investment promotion agency, at the Commission for Africa in London.
Mr Richards replaces Mr David Ward who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment.
