London’s Kensignton Palace hosted a reception for this year’s 11th African Achievers’ award. It recognised Africans, achievers of African extraction and individuals whose work has impacted African at home or in the diaspora.

By Professor Chris Imafidon – London, England was again the host of the best of African business leaders, eminent bankers, corporate executives, leading professionals, politicians, scientists and important dignitaries etc.  These guest are here for the renowned 11thAfrican Achievers Awards.

On December 9th, 10th, 12th we are at a` celebratory reception at Kensington Palace; a pre-award colloquium/summit at Cambridge, and Thanksgiving service at Westminster Abbey. There also be celebration in Windsor Castle (St George’s Chap).  The African Achievers Awards (AAA). The AAA has consistently honoured great Africans in Leadership, Young Achievers, Non-African leaders who impacts Africa, Community Builders to Captains of Industries across the continent. The Awards ceremony is now established as one of the biggest gatherings of influential and global African Achievers about the continent. Officially, this award has been rated by FORBES Magazine as one of the most reputable award for African Achievers across the Globe.  

Civil Rights icon, Rev Jesse Jackson was honoured at this year’s award ceremonies.  Previous award recipients include: ArchBishop Tutu, Nelson Mandela foundation, Bill Gates foundation; Kofi Annan foundation, former Arsenal player Kanu, etc Other previous nominees include Nobel prize winners, presidents, Forbes-listed entrepreneurs and technology multi-millionaires.

This was followed by a thanksgiving service, with Dean of Westminster Abbey. This was proceeded by the  African Achievers Awards International Colloquium/Summit 2021 hosted by Sydney Sussex College of the University of Cambridge; and Homerton College, Cambridge.. The formal welcome address was by Host: Lord Simon Woolley, Principal of  Homerton College, the largest college of the University of Cambridge. During the opening session Dr Charles Roddie spoke on “New methods for STEM education: high achievement through high technology” Dr Charles Roddie, Director of Studies, Sidney Sussex college demonstrated new ways to teaching mathematics. Special recognition was given to Prince’s trust of HRH Prince Charles for Youths, and Diversity/Inclusion and impact in Africa. Rev. Jesse Jackson has been bestowed multiple honours in his lifetime and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Bill Clinton in 2000, and this year French President Emmanuel Macron awarded him the Légion D’Honneur.
