Super Eagles face Three Lions in Wembley on June 2

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will this weekend, Saturday 2nd June play against Three Lions of England in a pre-World Cup friendly match.

The Super Eagles arrived in the UK, after a send off meeting on Wednesday with Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja. The team arrived in the UK and resumed training on Thursday evening at the Barnet Stadium in readiness for the friendly match scheduled for the Wembley Stadium, London.

The Nigerian community in the UK are fully ready, while the match organisers have a dedicated section within the stadium for Nigerian supporters.

The match is expected to be a difficult and tough game as England has a good team with all the players for the World Cup playing for top teams in the Premier League.

Both England and the Super Eagles are expected to start their first team for the Russia World Cup in the Saturday match, which kicks off by 5pm (UK Time).

After the England game, the Super Eagles are also billed to face the Czech Republic in Austria on June 6 in their final friendly ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which gets underway on June 14.

The team will camp for nine days at the Avita Resort in Bad Tatzmannsdorf, Austria before flying to their team base camp in Yessentuki, Stavropol region of Russia on June 11.

Nigeria will take on Croatia in their first match at the 21st FIFA World Cup finals at the Kaliningrad Stadium on Saturday, June 16 before other games against Iceland in Volgograd on June 22 and Argentina at Saint Petersburg on June 26 in Group D.
