Rapper Snoop Dogg, formerly Snoop Lion, Snoop Doggy Dogg and plain old Calvin Broadus Jnr. has answered the question political analysts and hip-hop fans alike have been desperate to know. He will be supporting former Secretary of State and Democratic candidate Hilary Clinton in her 2016 White House bid.
“You know I like to be politically correct, but sometimes I’m politically incorrect,” Snoop said when asked about his political pick on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” on Sunday. “But I’ll say that I would love to see a woman in office because I feel like we’re at that stage in life to where we need a perspective other than the male’s train of thought.
“And just to have a woman speaking from a global perspective as far as representing America, I’d love to see that. So I’ll be voting Ms. Clinton.”
Snoop Dogg, 43, is the latest high-profile entertainer to throw his support behind Clinton in the last few days. In similar remarks to ITK last week, R&B star Ne-Yo called Clinton “a favourite of mine.”
