Is this a NAUGHTY Prince Harry who would not follow royal protocols or an innocent victim of racism and tabloid phobia running away from danger.
Are Duke Harry and Duchess Meghan following in the rebellious footsteps of late Princess Diana, or Wallis Simpson and Prince Edward VIII who abdicated?
After Oprah Winfrey’s TV programme, Professor Chris Imafidon, a royal historian reviews how viewers were served a real cocktail of racism, royal rebellion, rationale for exiting England, yet respect for the Queen and then the royal response.
19th of May 2018 is a date no BLACK girl in the UK will ever forget. That day, they saw a dream royal wedding with Prince Charles walking another Black ‘sister’ into the Chapel of St Georges’ in Windsor where RACISM was finally buried! Every black can remember exactly where they sat or stood when a black Meghan Markle was enthusiastically welcomed to the royal family. Therefore, Black Britons [BAME] who saw the interview were shocked by the alleged royal racism when there is abundant pre-existing evidence of the monumental and unparalleled contributions of the current monarch to diversity, inclusion and mental health. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth has been a vociferous anti-racist campaigner via her charities and the institutions she leads. From the Princes’ Trust to endless other charities that other royals sacrificial support, Britons of all classes and racial backgrounds can say that the monarchy is the most anti-racist body in our society. The only human explanation is that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were probably rebelling against the monarchic protocol rather than seriously suggesting that the most enthusiastic individuals at the wedding were racists? Everybody is aware that the right wing tabloid and a section of the public are ignorant, or racist enough to selectively allow the country to be represented by BLACKS in SPORTS but would not want the same representation in ROYALTY.
The royal response of calling for a private investigation into racial discrimination allegation is welcomed. The conclusion that “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved (royal) family members.” is well advised. HM Queen Elizabeth II has shown in words and deeds, in public and private that she LOVES blacks but some elements in the society believe otherwise. Therefore the private royal investigation will establish the “very serious” truth. Is this the case of an angry naughty prince’s rebellious or overlooked rotten racist eggs or fatal flaws in communications and perceptions? It will be interesting to watch the entire 3 hours and 20 minutes conversation with Ms Winfrey instead of selective clips designed to sell a particular narrative. Mr Piers Morgan’s outburst is representative of a Britons who would call an innocent baby a “monkey or chimp” because of their racist inclination but gets excited when a black premiership footballer scores a goal for his favourite football club.
This first post-MEGIXT interview reveals why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex exited Britain and the unheard incredible things about the link between racism, royalty, suicidal feelings, and news reporting. This was generated by the institutions of MARRIAGE, MONARCHY, MADNESS, THE MEDIA AND MODERNITY.
This discussion demonstrated the undercurrents behind the monarchy and the rebellion against traditional thinking.
Most of the confessions of Prince Harry and the wife confirmed what some of the tabloid editors have always known but were unprepared to report.
Close sources to Buckingham Palace believe that Prince Harry is exhibiting some rebellion, which is similar to his late mother, Princess Diana, but the situation is complicated by racial discrimination.
MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES
Duchess Meghan Markle said that she had suicidal thoughts during her stay in Britain as a working royal, and the palace prevented her from getting help.
Meghan told the audience that she “just didn’t see a solution” to the mental health challenges she had experienced since joining the royal family and that she told Harry she “didn’t want to be alive anymore.”
She said she went to a senior royal staff and said she needed to get help for her mental health, but was told it would be bad for the family if she did.
She described the moment as a breaking point leading to her and Harry stepping aside from their royal duties.
Meghan said she “wasn’t planning to say anything shocking” during the interview, “I’m just telling you what happened.”
However, when Prince Harry was asked why he didn’t seek professional help for his wife, his reply was even more shocking. Prince Harry said
“I had no idea what to do. I wasn’t prepared for that. I went to a very dark place as well, but I wanted to be there for her.”
Asked if he told people in his family that Meghan needed help, he said: “That’s just not a conversation that would be had.”
The Duke added: “I guess I was ashamed of admitting it to them. And I don’t know whether they’ve had the same feelings or thoughts. I have no idea. It’s a very trapping environment that a lot of them are stuck in.”
RACISM – COLOUR OF UNBORN BABY, ARCHIE
Meghan Markle said that she realized soon after marrying Prince Harry that the institution of the royal family would not protect her.
In this interview, Meghan explained, “not only was I not being protected, but they were willing to lie to protect other members of the family, but they weren’t willing to tell the truth to protect me and my husband.” She did not give specific examples.
She said that when she was first pregnant with son Archie, there were “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.” The statement led the interviewer to ask “What!” incredulously and sat in silence for a moment.
Meghan declined to say who had this conversation with Harry that he relayed to her, saying revealing their name would be “very damaging.”
Meghan also said she was stunned when she was told he (Archie) would not be a prince and would not receive security from the palace.
Meghan said she did not worry about being a divorcee, mixed-race black American actress entering the British royal family, but later she “thought about it because they made me think about it.”
Meghan said it was not so much the royal family members themselves who treated her this way, but the people behind the institution.
She emphasized that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, herself “has always been wonderful to me.”
MEMORABLES MOMENTS (QUOTES FROM THE CONVERSATION)
“I didn’t want to be alive anymore. That was a very clear and real and frightening, constant thought.”
Meghan reveals she went to a senior aide (in the HR department) to “get help” after the onslaught of media attacks but was told it would not be a “good look” for the institution.
“Concerns and conversations about how dark [Archie’s skin might be when he’s born.” — Meghan
Several conversations. While she was pregnant. “And what that would mean and what that would look like.”
But they didn’t tell Meghan. They told Harry. He told Meghan.
The royals were asked, “Were you silent or were you silenced?” Meghan: “The latter…Nothing is like it looks like,” in the royal family. She claims people in the institution told her she couldn’t meet friends for lunch and a member of the royal family told her to “lie low”
KATE VS MEGHAN CRYING
Meghan on Kate making her cry over the wedding flower girl dresses:
Everyone in the institution knew it wasn’t true. I am not sharing that piece about Kate to be in any way disparaging about her. I would hope that she would want that to be corrected.
Megan says when she first met The Queen, it was at Royal Lodge in Windsor. Where “Andrew and Fergie” live.
She said she didn’t realise she had to courtesy to the Queen in private. “But it’s your grandmother?”. “Fergie came out to assist,” says Meghan. She did a very “deep courtesy”
Interviewer: What about the story “You made Kate cry?”
Meghan: “I heard about that one. That was a turning point. That was when everything changed.
Interviewer: Did you make Kate cry?
Meghan: No. The reverse happened. … She was upset about something. She owned it and bought me flowers.
Meghan: I didn’t understand what the job was. What does it mean to be a working royal? What do you do?
She also says, “I didn’t do any research” before I dated Harry
MISUNDERSTANDINGS
Meghan: I have always worked. I have always valued independence. I have advocated for so long for women to use their voice. And then I was silent.
Question: Were you silent or were you silenced?
Meghan to Oprah: Kate apologised for making me cry. I have forgiven her. Kate is a “good person”.
I can see now what layers were at play there. They really seem to want a narrative of a hero and a villain.
On the whole Prince/Princess HRH thing for Archie, Meghan says the convention was actually being changed for their son. “The first baby of colour in this family”.
And Prince Harry’s son would not be entitled to security.
Meghan Markle stated that when she was first pregnant with son Archie, there were “concerns and conversations “about how dark his skin might be.”
Meghan: We had to go to this event at the Royal Albert Hall after I told Harry I didn’t want to be alive anymore.
In the pictures, I see how tightly his knuckles are gripped around mine.
We are smiling, doing our job. In the Royal Box, when the lights went off, I was just weeping
Harry on his father, Prince Charles:
The Prince of Wales is trapped.
There is a lot to work though there. I feel really let down. He’s been through something similar. He knows what pain feels like.
And Archie is his grandson.
I will always love him but there is a lot of hurt that has happened
Harry on Prince William: The relationship is one of “space at the moment” and time heals all things hopefully.
Meghan: I regret believing them (the Palace) when they said I would be protected.
On his relationship with William, Harry repeats what he told @tombradby in Africa: “We have been through hell together. We are on different paths.”
Meghan: Harry saved all of us, he ultimately called it and said “we have got to find a way. You made a decision that saved my life and saved all of us.”
And now the money:
Harry: My family literally cut me off financially in the first quarter of 2020.
I have got what my mum left me. I think my mum saw it coming. And I felt my Mum’s presence through this process.
Here, Harry throws his father under a bus
He says when we were in Canada I had 3 conversations with my grandmother (Queen) and 2 conversations with my father (Prince Charles) “before he stopped taking my calls.”
He (my father) asked me for it all in writing.
Harry: We told Prince Charles that we would announce our departure and put it all out on 7 January.
In other words, Harry says his father and grandmother knew that the announcement was coming that they were leaving – and they did NOT “blindside” The Queen
Harry says his family are “scared” of the British tabloid press.
“I am acutely aware how scared my family are that the tabloids will turn on them”.
Question: Did you blindside the Queen when you announced you were leaving?
Harry: I never blindsided my grandmother. I have too much respect for her.
Prince Charles stopped taking Harry’s calls because Harry took matters into his own hands!
Harry also confirmed he moved away because of the British Press AND lack of support from “the firm”. He said he didn’t blindside the Queen and she knew about the move.
MONARCHY & MADNESS
Meghan Markle stated that she didn’t “fully understand what the job was” when she married Prince Harry.
The ladies talked about the early days before the royal marriage, with Meghan saying “there was no way to understand what the day-to-day was going to be like.
“That’s what was really tricky over those past few years, is when perception and reality are two very different things,” Meghan said. “And you’re being judged on the perception, but you’re living the reality of it.”
MARRIAGE MIRAGE
Duchess Meghan also revealed that she and Harry were technically married a few days before the ceremony watched by the world.
After a brief introduction – narrating a recounting of the couple’s wedding and subsequent announcement that they were stepping down from their royal duties, Meghan walked into the back garden setting of the interview.
“You really are having a baby!” Ms Winfrey shouted when she saw Meghan’s baby bump under her black dress.
Meghan said she would reveal the sex of the baby later in the interview when Harry joined them.
Oprah and Meghan said they were at the home of a friend of Oprah’s because they liked the setting.
They clarified that no questions would be off limits and that Meghan and Harry would not be paid for the interview.
MOTHERHOOD
Meghan Markle Says Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Has Always Been “Wonderful” To Her. “She’s always been warm, welcoming, and inviting,”
It’s no surprise to hear that Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, have had tension with the British royal family. During their two-hour interview special, Markle revealed that her relationship with Queen Elizabeth II has been positive.
“The HM Queen has always been wonderful to me. I’ve loved being in her company,” Markle said, adding that the queen reminds her of her own grandmother. “She’s always been warm, welcoming, and inviting.”
Markle recalled the first time she met the queen, which occurred soon after she and Harry began dating in July 2016. Markle admitted that she didn’t know much about the royal family at the time of their courtship. “I went into it naively. I didn’t grow up knowing much about the royal family. It wasn’t part of the conversation at home, it wasn’t something we followed,” she said.
Back then, she had a different understanding of the royal family. She admitted that she didn’t quite grasp the difference between celebrity and royal. “I didn’t fully understand what the job was,” she said. “As Americans, what do you know about the royals? It’s what you read in fairy tales. It’s easy to have an image of it that’s so far from reality. That’s what’s been tricky over the last few years. When the perception and reality are two different things. There’s a complete misalignment.”
