The Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Osun State, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo has congratulated the democratically elected Council Chairmen and Councillors across the State, over their landslide victory of today 13th June 2025, at the Court of Appeal, sitting in Akure Ondo State.

This was contained in a statement by the Commissioner, which was made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Friday.

Rev. Jenyo who described the judgement of the Appeal Court as justice for the common man, asserted that it was indeed a stepping stone to sustenance of good governance and purposeful leadership by the State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.

He congratulated the Governor for his patience, sacrifices and doggedness in sustaining the peace of the State, regardless of the political brigandage of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) since February 10, 2025 when its members attempted to set the peaceful Osun into a battlefield.

“We must also congratulate the destiny child, man of the people and of peace, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for his fatherly roles in sustaining the peace of Osun State, despite violent plots of the opposition APC to hijack the Local Government administration through the backdoor”, the Commissioner said.

He lauded the Judiciary for its courage, determination and integrity in serving justice for all and clearing the air on all fronts.

Saluting the Barrister Hashim Abioye-led Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), for its strict adherence to the dictates of the Electoral Act, he wished the elected Council helmsman well in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities at their respective Council areas.

“Congratulations to the people of Osun State over the landmark judgement of the Appeal Court, Akure which affirmed the sack of the Yes/No illegal Chairmen and Councillors. Today’s judgement has indeed restored the hope of the common man and the triumph of the rule of law”, the Commissioner stated.
