Tyga’s manager Anthony Martini told TMZ the rapper reached out to underage Molly O’Malia after his team found out she had a pretty strong musical following online and thought she might be a candidate for a Last Kings Records project … his record label. Tyga claims it was strictly business and completely PG. As for her age — according to text messages obtained by TMZ … Molly mentions she is 17.

Martini says in the exchange Tyga specifically asked her to send him some music, adding things never got “uncomfortable” as she has claimed. The rep says Tyga wanted to FaceTime Molly to talk business and see her sing while he sat in the studio with his producers.

The 14-year-old’s blurred photo appeared on the cover of last month’s OK! Magazine accompanied by claims Tyga, 26, is “in love” with her. The story in OK! claimed Tyga left his on-again, off-again girlfriend Kylie Jenner “heartbroken” by texting with the girl, who he met on Instagram.

O’Malia held a press conference in New York on Monday along with her attorney, Gloria Allred, to give her side of the story. She said people knew it was her in the photo, despite it being pixelated, and that she doesn’t deserve the negative attention she has been getting as a result of the story.

O’Malia’s mother, Anne, said at the press conference, “Molly decided the best thing to do was to stand up for herself. I’m very proud of her to have the courage to come today and do this.”
