By Milton Tella – What the future holds for Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation and the significance of October 1st as an important date in the biblical calendar, was the focus of one of the most influential religious leaders across the globe.

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, who was named as one of the world’s fifty most powerful people by Newsweek Magazine (USA) in 2009, became an Octogenarian recently. The man of God said, “I have a firm belief that Nigeria has the capacity to survive all turbulence. God has a special interest in Nigeria.”

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye revealed this prophecy during his first ever visit to the Abuja House, official residence of the Nigerian High commissioner to the United Kingdom, His Excellency, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola on Friday, 8 April 2022.

Pastor Adeboye, while addressing diplomats at the Ambassador’s residence in Camden Hill, central London, said, “I am extremely delighted to be here. The Redeemed Christian Church of God is in more than 190 nations of the world and l have visited many of these nations and in each nation l have been welcomed by our ambassadors. This is the first time ever that l have been invited by a Nigerian ambassador to the UK, though the RCCG started in Britain in 1983. I have always wondered what Nigeria House looks like in London. Today, now l know. I am very grateful sir, thank you for the honour and the Almighty God will honour you in return.”

Pastor Adeboye further revealed that, “Whether we believe it or not, Nigeria is a very very special country. It would amaze you to know that the most important date in the Biblical calendar is October 1. That is the day of the Feast of Trumpets. Many Bible scholars believe that the most likely date that Jesus will come back again to earth will be October 1. The year we don’t know and how accurate they are we don’t know. But the Bible did say that when Jesus would come back, it would be with the sound of trumpets. The date for the Feast of Trumpets to start is October 1.

When you consider that our fathers, many of them gone to sleep now, who chose the date for the independence of Nigeria, when they chose Oct 1, they just thought they were choosing by random but God was behind the scene. Which could explain why Nigeria had gone through so much turbulence and you think that by tomorrow there will be no Nigeria, you wake up to see that we are still bubbling.

The way things are going in Nigeria today. I have a firm believe that Nigeria has a glorious future. I believe God has a very special interest in our nation Nigeria. I want us to be encouraged, particularly those of us in Britain, because l know you are aware of our problems in Nigeria. I mentioned some of our problems last Sunday.

But here in Britain you have an additional problem. The additional problem is Russia fighting Ukraine. Unless God intervenes and I know he will. The way things are going, I pray that the whole thing will not degenerate into nuclear warfare.

One thing that these so-called world leaders hate is to be humiliated.  So when they find that they are about to suffer a defeat in a shameful way they may think of, well, if you can’t have it, destroy it.

But God in His infinite mercy had given us a hint at the beginning of the year, that there might be this kind of problem on the way. Which was the reason why I called for 1000 volunteers among my children to join me in fasting and praying, so we can pray for Nigeria and the rest of the world. By the way, I got 26,000 volunteers. Thank God we prayed. When Russia invaded Ukraine and NATO decided to go the way of sanction instead of going to war, I said, Thank you God.”

The man of God then prayed for Nigeria and the rest of the world, that God should prevent an outbreak of world war this year.

Ambassador Sarafa Isola in his welcome remark, thanked Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye, Pastor Leke Sanusi and the delegation on the visit. He said, “It is indeed a great pleasure to welcome Daddy G O to this place. I was taken aback to hear that this is the first time that Daddy G O is visiting the Abuja House London. I am quite delighted that this is happening during my tenure.”

His Excellency described Pastor Adeboye as a father and that he is very proud to be one of his sons.

Ambassador Isola said, “Daddy, we are happy for your life. I recalled vividly, that you are taken as one of the wonders of the world. You are known as one of the first ten motivational speakers all over the world. Given the numbers of followership that you are able to manage worldwide, you are such a person that the generation yet to come will have to study. Your humility is highly personified and quite uncommon. Some of us have taken after such humility. Your dexterity and the ways you look at issues passionately, as a statesman are incomparable. We cherish your prayers for our country, Nigeria and the whole world. We will continue to celebrate you.”

The Ambassador took the opportunity to pray for the man of God. He said, “It is our fervent prayer that the Almighty God will let you become nonagenarian and a centenarian. Last time you were in London, we saw you as a septuagenarian but now you are an octogenarian.”
