Owo South LCDA Chairman, Hon. Lawalson, EXCO commend Kabiyesi Ojomoluda of Ijebu-Owo Kingdom for the progress of the Council

By Olubunmi Omoogun – The Chairman of Owo South Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ondo State, southwest Nigeria, Hon. Shehu Lawalson has commended His Royal Majesty, Oba Kofoworola Oladoyinbo, the Ojomoluda of Ijebu-Owo Kingdom, for his unwavering commitment to the development of Owo South LCDA and the overall progress of Ondo State.

A statement by the Media Aide, Olubunmi Babatunde quoted Hon. Lawalson was to have made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the monarch’s palace in Ijebu-Owo on Monday, where he was accompanied by members of the LCDA’s executive committee.

He also delivered goodwill messages from Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Owolabi Adelami, praising the monarch’s long-standing service to the community and his contribution to peace and development.

The LCDA Chairman highlighted the role played by Oba Oladoyinbo during the last elections, noting how the Kabiyesi mobilized support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), which contributed to the party’s success at the polls.

“Kabiyesi has demonstrated visionary leadership and has been instrumental in the creation and development of Owo South LCDA,” Lawalson said. “His efforts in strengthening the political and infrastructural fabric of Ijebu-Owo in Ondo State have been remarkable, and we are grateful for his enduring service.”

Hon. Lawalson also notes Kabiyesi’s many years of meritorious service to our great nation. 

The Owo South LCDA Chairman recalled the immense efforts and great wisdom of Kabiyesi when he gave his unwavering support to our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Kabiyesi urged his Chiefs to go into various camps within his jurisdiction to educate the people on the importance of their votes.

“This strategy helped to secure substantial votes for our party, the APC in all the elections.” 

Hon. Lawalson highlighted Oba Kofoworola Oladoyinbo’s commitment to democracy and good governance, as he said that the Kabiyesi stood firmly on the side of the people.

He said, “Kabiyesi is a visionary and result oriented Oba. He worked assiduously for the creation of Owo South LCDA and showed strength and kingly character. 

We are very happy that our Kabiyesi has been upgraded to a first-class Oba. The good network of Ijebu Owo road is unprecedented. We thank God Almighty that Ijebu-Owo Kingdom is developing and striving under our revered Royal Father”. 

We want to use this opportunity to appeal to Kabiyesi and his Chiefs to continue to work for the success of His Excellency, Lucky Ayedatiwa and his Deputy Dr. Olayide Adelami in the coming election on 16 November 2024 for their re-election so that Mr Governor can address all the ongoing projects in Owo and Ondo State at large. 

The Chairman further requested for the use of his Hall beside the Federal Medical Centre Annex, in order to serve as a temporary measure to address the office accommodation challenge of the newly created LCDA, and the Kabiyesi graciously granted the request to the delight of the team. 

While congratulating the Kabiyesi on his recent birthday celebration and 20th coronation anniversary, the Chairman prayed for more years of service to the people of Ijebu-Owo Kingdom and robust health on the throne for Kabiyesi.

The Kabiyesi urged the LCDA executive committee members to work as a team and work assiduously for the upliftment of the newly created Council. He further said that as foundation members, things will be rough at the initial stage but with commitment, perseverance, and dedication, the team would be able to lay a solid foundation. His Royal Majesty also advised the team to ensure that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) expedite action on the distribution of voters cards to the first time voters and others who have not collected in the communities.

Kabiyesi also reaffirmed his unalloyed support for the re-election of His Excellency, Lucky Ayedatiwa and his Deputy Dr. Olayide Adelami.

Responding, the Chairman said he had earlier visited the INEC Office, but they are preoccupied at the moment due to the forthcoming Edo State Gubernatorial election coming up around the third week of September 2024. The collection process will commence after the Edo election. 

The head of the administrative department of the Council, Mrs Awolere Iyabode thanked Kabiyesi and his Chiefs for the reception. She reassured the Kabiyesi and the Chiefs that the Council will continue to cooperate with the Palace.

The visit concluded with the LCDA executive expressing their appreciation for Kabiyesi’s support, promising to maintain close collaboration with the palace to drive the council’s development agenda.

The Chairman was accompanied by his Vice-Chairman, the Secretary, Supervisors and the administrative Officers of the Council.
