In continuation of his efforts to empower the youths of his Constituency, the House of Representatives member representing Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal Constituency of Ondo state in the National Assembly, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde has partnered with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity to increase the skillacquisition of his Constituents in livestock production.
At a three-day training held in Oka Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of the state where youths received chicken feed, Vaccines, Stoves, automated cages and Chickens (both broilers and Cockerels), the Honourable said, over 40 people from Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal Constituency received financial supports and necessary materials to
start up poultry business. Babatunde said “We have made a promise to members of our constituency that we will not just be in Abuja but we will always return home to give whatever we can give to improve the living standard of our people”.
He noted that his effort to encourage the youths in production of livestock is in line with the Federal Government policy to promote agriculture, saying that “The All Progressives Congress (APC) government led by President Buhari has taken agriculture as one of the cardinal projects of his administration and he is already doing everything humanly possible to achieve this”. “We as lawmakers shouldn’t fold our arms. We should support the President’s agenda. The President means well for the nation. He wants to diversify the economy and our youths must be empowered and encouraged to embrace agriculture”.
Teachers were also engaged to train and treat past WAEC questions with 400 students from the constituency in a bid to make them achieve good grades in the coming examinations.
