“But I did command this: “Obey me. Do what I say and I will be your God and you will be My people. Live the way I tell you. Do what I command so that your lives will go well.” Jer.7:23

Dear Reader, listen! There is a realm in God where you provoke divine intervention without having to pray for days. It is a realm of answered prayers without tears, a realm where God contends with those who contend against you without you asking Him to do it. It is a realm of reaching heaven and receiving from God without shouting; a realm where you provoke answers without asking. It is the realm of total obedience!

Obedience is one of the direct avenues to God that bring answers to your prayers without sweat. This has become a revelation to me in recent time. You can avenge all disobedience with the weaponry of obedience (2 Cor 10:3-5) This is because if you do what God tells you to do, no devil in hell can undo you (1 Pet 3:13). Walking in obedience as God commands puts you in command and you’ll have things as you desire them.

Obedience is the gateway to the realms of answers without prayers because God looks at the heart, not at what comes out of our mouth. My friend, your obedience to God’s command, voice or instruction commits Him to act on your behalf and in your favour. When things happen in your life without you praying for them, there are two things that must have happened, either you had earlier responded in obedience to God’s command or someone had asked God in prayer on your behalf and had met the condition given.

Mary said to the people, “Whatever He says unto you, do it” (John 2:5). My friend, this is the secret of a sweatless and effectual prayer life! God said, “Because I cried and they didn’t hear, so they cried and I would not hear” (Zech 7:13). Listen! Whether you are a politician, a preacher, a professional, a professor, a practitioner, a person, a family or a church; if God must hear you when you call in personal or corporate prayers, then you must first hear and obey Him. Check the compromise, backslidden or stagnation of a person, a family or a church, you’ll find disobedience to the voice, commands and instructions of God.

My friend, obedience has no substitute! It is very important that you check your obedience level in whatever area you seem to be facing some problems or challenges, and ask yourself, “Am I living by God’s instructions here or am I doing my own thing?” If you are doing it His way – living your life, running your home, leading the Church of Jesus Christ, working in that organization or living in that nation in God’s way, God is committed to listening, hearing and answering us whenever we call upon Him (Jer 33:3)

Obedience is so powerful that it speaks. My friend, if you desire financial open heaven, for example, you must obey the law of sowing and reaping, the law of abundance. You must pay your tithes and give offerings (read Mal 3:6-12); otherwise no amount of fasting and prayer will bring financial blessings to your way. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land (Isa 1:19). The good of the land is accessible to all, but available only to the obedient. That’s the deal!

When you’re obedient to the demands of the law of abundance, your obedience will speak for you. Even if the devil (the devourer) attempts to stop your harvest, one word of prayer is enough to cast him out, because he must bow to the weapon of your obedience (2 Cor 10:3-6). The same thing goes if you desire peace in your home. You need prayers but what you need most is obedience to God commands that says “Husband, love your wife as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself unto her…Wife, submit unto your husband as unto Christ” (Eph 5:22-25).

The acts of obedience are enough to cast out the devil from your marriage, home and family. Today many men give everything to their wives, except themselves. They give flowers, chocolates, money, food, car, even property to their wives but give their affection and attention to other women or things like sport, ministry, club, job, business, the pursuit of building careers or empires. My friend, Is that you? Do you love Jesus’ wife (the Church) and give yourself to her more than you love and give yourself to your own wife? If yes, you have disobeyed God’s command! God is saying to you today to repent (change your ways). To obey is better than excuses (1 Sam 15:22). Trust and obey God, that’s the only way to be happy in Jesus and in your home! Not only will you be happy, your obedience will affect your children positively.

My friend, do you know that obedience will infuse you with confidence? It gives you boldness! Yes, it does, though people in your life or around you may term your confidence as being proud or arrogant. Listen! If you have done what is required of you, then you can be bold to demand what’s due to you or make declarations that commands heaven’s backing or speak with courage without fear or looking at people’s face or command and expect result.

Jesus was a great commander in prayer because of His obedience to the Father. If you also operate in absolute obedience to the voice of the Father, you’ll command the same kind of results He commanded in prayers. Moses said to the congregation – the children of Israel – “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God.” (Deut 28:1) What a word, the type we need from our pulpits and telecasts today.

My friend, there is a lot to share in this message but let me conclude with this – Obedience has no substitute! When you obey God’s voice, Word, command or instruction; when you obey your parents and those in authority over you, your obedience will move heaven into action in your favour and your adversaries will be dealt with on your behalf. When you obey God both in secret and in public, your struggles in prayer will come to an end (Eph 6:6). God says, “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” (Isa 1:19). The good of the land you’re living in now is accessible to all, but available only to the obedient. Receive the grace for practical obedience from today in Jesus name (Amen). Remain blessed!
