African Voice brings you Part One of the highlights of speeches and emotions by some of the 70 Most Outstanding Healthcare Professionals in the UK from the glamorous award ceremony that took place at the Grange City Hotel London on Saturday 23rd March 2019.


Foluke Ajayi and Eunice Adeshokan have their say:

Foluke Ajayi, Chief Operating Officer – University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. Ms. Foluke Ajayi has been Chief Operating Officer at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust since February 2015.

Eunice Adeshokan, a qualified nurse with Bsc Mental Health nursing, PG Diploma Professional Leadership in HealthCare and Msc Advanced Nurse Practice who has worked in the NHS for the past 29 years out of which 20 years has been in Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Services.

Olayinka Bajomo and Juliet Okpara speak on the award:

Olayinka Bajomo works in the heart of the most deprived boroughs of London. Her passion is to stamp out the HIV stigma through workshops with religious leaders.

Juliet Okpara,Dementia expert, that goes beyond the call of duty bringing health into the community with Healthy Sunday programme.

 

Prof. Rotimi Ayodele Kayode JAIYESIMI and Elsie Uwegba-Obatarhe had some positive messages:

Professor Rotimi Ayodele Kayode JAIYESIMI MBBS, FWACS, FRSPH, FRCOG, MBA, LLM (Medical Law) is the Associate Medical Director for Patient Safety, Basildon University Hospital and Specialist Advisor for the Care Quality Commission.

Elsie Uwegba-Obatarhe is an experienced Advanced Midwife Practitioner, Perineal Specialist Midwife and Clinical Placement Facilitator based at BHRUT Queens Hospital, Romford.

 

Dr Malvis Humphrey and Oluwakemi Oduniyi on giving back:

Dr Malvis Humphrey is a UK qualified Biomedical Scientist, Registered Mental health nurse and Healthcare management Consultant.

Oluwakemi Oduniyi is a Senior Medicines Information Pharmacist at the National Psychiatry Medicines Information service.

 

Adeboye Ifederu and Adeola Filani exude passion:

Adeboye Ifederu is Head of The North Thames Regional Newborn Screening Laboratory at the Great Ormond Street Hospital, the largest Newborn Screening laboratory in the UK

Adeola Filani has mentored midwives over the last 21 years and worked across the board in maternity holding clinical, management and supervisory roles.

Oluwatoyin Asaaju and Yemisi Adegbile shared some joy:

Oluwatoyin Asaaju isa UK trained Senior Pediatric nurse, public health practitioner and health visitor with vast experience in the health sector promotes health for women, children and families in UK, USA and Africa.

Yemisi Adegbile has been working in the field of fertility for about 20 yrs. Her passion for bridging the gap in the Black and ethnic minority led to founding of Fertility Onestop.
