The Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) was established in 2000-2001, by the Federal Government as the umbrella body for Nigerian citizens in the Diaspora.

NIDO provides the unique opportunity for Nigerians living in the UK to learn to work and collaborate with one another in the task of nation building of the homeland.

The organisation says it strongly believes that Nigerians in the UK can make significant contributions to Nigeria through programs, policies, and advocacy to harness their talents, expertise, and resources for Nigeria’s development and nation building.

NIDO UK South chapter said, the vision of the organisation is to bring Nigerians living in the United Kingdom together and to identify those willing to offer their skills in Education, Information Technology, Health, Economics, Sciences, Administration, Law, Political and Corporate Governance, Management etc to assist Nigeria’s national development. These skills will be needed in development projects by government and non-governmental organisations.

NIDO UK South chapter as a result, requires those Nigerians living in the UK who can afford to spend a period of time in Nigeria to contribute their skills to help the Nigeria developmental process.
