The news of the trio’s collaboration was revealed by Ty Dolla $ign, the US artist who contributed backing vocals to West’s latest single ‘Only One’. That song also features Sir Paul and is believed to be one of a number of songs the pair recorded together. Release of the single prompted some so-called music fans to tweet, hopefully tongue-in-cheek, that West is going to make McCartney a huge star.

Speaking to music industry bible Billboard, Ty Dolla $ign discussed details of another collaboration between McCartney and West, which also features vocals from Rihanna. “Me, Rihanna, ‘Ye and Paul got a song about to drop as well,” he said.

Confirming that it was recorded for West’s new album, he added: “It’s gonna drop soon. I heard they shot the video recently. I don’t know what the final title is, but I know it’s crazy so just be looking out for [it].”

Ty Dolla $ign recorded with West in Mexico, stating that they made between seven and nine songs in the first 24 hours. West has postponed the release of his next LP, the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Yeezus’, after previously saying it would arrive in the autumn of 2014.
