Mount Street celebrates Black History Week in London

The maiden edition of Black History Week celebration at Mount Street this year had the theme “Reclaiming Narrative”. The event explored how professionals across different industries are taking control of their personal and professional stories. The educative and engaging discussion was aimed at an audience that is predominantly unfamiliar with Black cultural issues but is eager to learn about the power of narrative across industries. 

Five speakers in London and one who joined remotely from Atlanta, USA narrated their experiences. The event, which celebrated the rich history, culture, and contributions of the black community in the UK and USA was moderated by Viviane Adjado. The speaker were: 

•  Jennie Dorsaint  Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright. 


•  Morenike Ajayi MBE, DStG (Dame of the Order of St George) Director of 
Corporate Services, GCHA and Founder, Career Nuggets. 


•  Abass Abayomi Tijani Media & entertainment consultant, broadcaster, 
DJ and compere. 


•  Golda John Abiola Veteran award-winning television, stage and film 
actress who has appeared in numerous theatrical productions in the UK and internationally. 


•  Olusola Odebunmi Head of Compliance, Mount Street. Experienced corporate services professional. 


•   MaShelle Dean, MBA, CTP Director, Treasury – Servicing & Treasury Operations for Mount Street US. Experienced in commercial real estate, capital markets, debt management, corporate accounting and finance, cash flow forecasting, bank account and banking relationship management, EFT payments, A/P and A/R management.
