Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah has insisted that his main target is trophies after maintaining his impressive scoring record for Liverpool FC.
The in-form winger increased his season tally to 19 goals from 19 matches across all competitions when he grabbed a brace in Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Everton FC in an English Premier League game on Wednesday night.
The brace in the Merseyside Derby saw Salah extend his lead to four goals at the top of the Premier League’s scoring charts and he has since opened up his ambitions following the clash which took place at Goodison Park.
“Hopefully many more! My first target is to win something with the club: Champions League, Premier League, hopefully both,” Salah said on the club’s official website.
“That’s the main target for everyone. “It’s a great result. To come here and win the game, play good football and score four goals is unbelievable.
“It’s something positive we take from the game.”
The 29-year-old also discussed Liverpool’s scintillating form having scored 12 goals in their last three Premier League games – securing 4-0 wins over Arsenal FC and Southampton FC and 4-1 victory against Everton.
“I think we know each other more now, we are together for five or six years. Last season we had a few injuries. The season before we were playing really well,” he added.
“We won some titles together. “The only thing I can say is we know each other very well now and we try to help each other in the games to score more goals and win games.”
Salah and his Liverpool teammates will now take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in a league game at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday.
