A 13 year old boy, has landed a role in popular BBC show Doctor Who.
Teenager, Jaydon Harris-Wallace, who hails from South East London, was awarded the role despite serious competition from other youngsters, and will star in this season’s final episode, alongside other child actors including Ashley Foster (Woman in Black), Abigail Eames (The Crimson Field) and Harley Bird (Peppa Pig)
The role, in which Jaydon will play school boy Sampson, will be his acting debut and is an exciting opportunity for the young man who attended over 50 auditions before landing the coveted role. Previously Jayden performed on CITV’s charity show Text Santa as a dancer.
His agent, Jessica Elliott, who accompanied him to Essex during his one month of filming told The Voice:
“It was an amazing feeling to know that I have made it possible for Jaydon to have this amazing experience.
“He has worked so hard and now is his time to shine. We are all so proud of Jay and cannot wait to watch the episode. I know his family are all looking forward to it too.”
The episode, which will air on October 25th, is written by acclaimed children’s writer Frank Cottrell Boyce, who is most famous for writing the script for the opening ceremony at London’s 2012 Olympic Games.
Lead writer and Executive producer Steven Moffat described Boyce’s script as ‘pure magic’, saying that it is “everything I could have hoped for from the genius behind the Olympics opening ceremony.”
“Doctor Who is born anew in the mind of a genius,” he added.
