London prepares for biggest gathering of African students

This year’s Students and Youths of Nigeria Conference (SYNC) is set to be the largest gathering of Nigerian Students and youths in the UK.

The conference is a collaborative initiative between Nigerian Students’ Union UK, Nigerian Youths in Diaspora Organisation and the National Youth Council of Nigeria Europe. This conference will bring together Nigerian Students, youths and stakeholders within the education, business and leadership space, to engage in high impact, solution-based discussions, build collaborations and create opportunities and partnerships that work for all.

A Key focus of SYNC is to facilitate collaboration and partnership (“working together”) of all Students and Youth groups in the United Kingdom.

This year’s conference will facilitate dialogue and collective action on key and relevant issues ranging from innovation and collaboration, youth engagement and empowerment, business partnerships, social entrepreneurship and job creation, youth identity and wellbeing, immigration and emigration, economic development, infrastructure development and sustainable development.

The Theme for this year’s conference is, “Shaping Our Future through Innovation and Collaboration.” Proffering solutions to our common challenges and unlocking opportunities for all.

This year’s conference will facilitate dialogue and collective action on key and relevant issues ranging from innovation and collaboration, youth engagement and empowerment, business partnerships, social entrepreneurship and job creation, youth identity and wellbeing, immigration and emigration, economic development, infrastructure development and sustainable development.

Through the combined experience of our speakers, panel discussions and the opportunity to network with great minds, we hope the conference will provide an opportunity to empower Nigerian youths attending the conference to contribute their best ideas towards developing themselves and their nation.

Nigerian Students’ Union UK is the umbrella body that unites and represents all Nigerian Student Associations and societies in Universities across the United Kingdom. We are a registered, non-for- profit making organisation run by Nigerian Students and a group of Alumnus. We empower, Inspire and motivate students of Nigerian origin and youths studying in the United Kingdom to get active and assume leadership positions in their institutions and in society so as to stand out and fulfil their goals and aspirations in life.

Nigerian Youths in Diaspora Organisation is youth led organisation, which aims to connect, represent and inspire Nigerian youths abroad and those living in Nigeria. NYIDO-UK is the United Kingdom strand of the NYIDO international network which supports and represents the interest of Nigerian youths in the UK. (www.nyido.org)

National Youth Council of Nigeria Europe as an organisation, supports Nigerian youth in Europe through education, engagement, and advocacy. Its aim is to promote personal growth, community development, and social change while celebrating Nigerian culture. NYCN Europe’s goal is to empower Nigerian youth in Europe to lead positive change and contribute to the development of both their host countries and Nigeria, bridging cultures and making a lasting impact on the world.

Awards and certificates will be handed out to worthy Nigerian Society Student Leaders, who go out of their way to ensure that the welfare and needs of their members and other students are met, despite studying for themselves.
