Juliette John OBE new Ambassador to Senegal

Ms Juliette John has been appointed as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Senegal and Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.

The appointment of Ms Juliette John OBE by Her Majesty’s as the Ambassador to the Republic of Senegal and Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau in succession to Ms Victoria Billing OBE is most welcome by both countries. Ms John will take up her appointment this month of April 2022.

Ambassador Juliette was Home Office, Policy Analyst, Action against Crime and Disorder Unit then Policy Analyst, Policing and Organised Crime Unit then Assistant Private Secretary to the Home Secretary 2000 to 2002. DFID, Policy Analyst, European Union Department 2002 to 2003, DFID, Programme Manager, Democratic Republic of Congo & Angola 2003 to 2004, DFID, Private Secretary to the Secretary of State 2005 to 2006, 

DFID, Head of International Conflict Team 2006 to 2008. In 2009, she attended UK Defence Academy, Higher Command and Staff Course. 

In 2009 to 2011, she was New Delhi, DFID Head of Policy and Communications, DFID, Principal Private Secretary to the Permanent Secretary in 2011 to 2013. Then DFID, Head, Yemen Office in 2014 to 2017.

Ambassador Juliette was Cabinet Office, Deputy Director (Policy), London Anti-Corruption Summit in 2016. She moved to Department for International Development (DFID), Head, Africa Regional Department 2017 to 2018. She became head of UK Joint Sahel Department in 2018 to 2019. She serves as Kinshasa, Development Director till date.
