The residence of the judge who ordered the removal of Yingluck Shinawatra from the post of prime minister has been the target of a bomb attack.

A hand grenade was thrown into Constitutional Court judge Suphot Kaimuk’s home in Bangkok in the early hours of Thursday morning (May 8). The blast caused minor damage to the roof of a carport and to a vehicle parked inside but no-one was injured.

CCTV footage captured images of a suspect wearing a baseball cap throwing the explosive into Suphot’s home before running away. No-one has been arrested and police are investigating the incident.

Suphot was one of the Constitutional Court judges who removed Yingluck and nine ministers on Wednesday for abuse of power. Yingluck was found guilty of illegally transferring then National Security Council (NSC) chief Thawil Pliensri to an inactive post in 2011.
