The Nigerian Healthcare Professionals UK (NHCPUK) have released the final list of shortlisted nominees for the NHS @70 Excellence Awards 2019.
The NHCPUK organised awards ceremony is to celebrate 70 most outstanding Nigerian Healthcare Professionals in the UK from a list of over 200 shortlisted to mark the contributions of these group of Nigerians, as the National Health Scheme (NHS) celebrates its 70th anniversary.
With Nigerians at a population of 5,405, occupying 9th position out of 157 nationalities in the NHS, the contributions of these professionals cannot be overlooked. The NHCPUK/NHS@70 awards celebrate outstanding Nigerians in various disciplines.
Winners will be announced during a ceremony which will hold on Saturday 23rd March 2019 at the Grange City Hotel, 8 -14 Cooper Row, London EC3N 2BQ. Time: 5.00pm to 1.00am.
The Project Co-ordinator of NHCPUK, Lope Olayiwola said excitedly that, “All is now set for the most anticipated, first ever awards in recognition of the contributions of Nigerian healthcare professionals in the NHS. We look forward to Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to come out in large numbers to support this laudable initiative. We are optimistic that guests will have an unforgettable evening of quality entertainments, awards ceremony/special recognitions, three course dinner, dance, comedy and lots of fun.”
The Co-ordinator further said that, a great take away for attendees and all nominees will be a keep-sake souvenir event brochure containing the profiles of Influential Nigerian Healthcare professionals in the UK which is expected to inspire the next generation of Nigerians. It is not too late for prospective advertisers to promote their products and services. Few exhibition stands are still available for grabs by product vendors.
In an exclusive media release made available by NHCPUK to African Voice, Britain’s N0.1 African Newspaper, is a comprehensive list of shortlisted nominees/professionals from various disciplines in all healthcare sectors.
The award ceremony will obviously bring together the highest calibre of professionals under one roof, making the celebration a more inclusive assemble of best brains among Nigerians in the NHS.
Yvonne Coghill CBE, OBE, Director of the NHS Quality and Diversity Council of the National Health Service (NHS) United Kingdom, Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Federal Ministry of Health, Professor I F Adewole, senior officials of the ministry are some of the dignitaries who have confirmed attendance.

Nigerian Healthcare Professionals UK (NHCPUK) was established in 2018 to promote a positive image of Nigerian healthcare professionals working in the National Health Service. Part of its remit is to give awards to recognise and honour healthcare professionals of Nigerian origin in the United Kingdom, whose professional success, excellence and career achievements are worthy of emulation by young and aspiring Nigerians. The awards will go some way towards preserving a legacy to encourage excellence and achievements in various fields of endeavour amongst generations of British citizens of Nigerian descent.
