A disagreement has broken out between two organisations who each claim ownership of the Miss Kenya title. One camp run by model scout Tony Chirah recently held their own version of the title where Lydia Marcella Manani was crowned Miss Earth Kenya.

The other camp run by Ashley’s CEO Terry Muigai claim that the only holder of the title will come from this weekend’s crowning of a Miss World Kenya.

Terry told Word Is, “Miss World Kenya is the biggest pageant in the world and oldest – being 64 years old. So, whichever country has the franchise for Miss World takes their girl who is known internationally as Miss that country. Kenya is no exception. The girl who goes to the biggest pageant in that country is the one that owns the title, Miss Kenya. We have the license for Miss World Kenya and the girl we shall crown is the bonafide representative of Kenya.”

Miss World Kenya will be crowned this weekend and will go ahead to represent the country on December 14, 2014 at ExCeL London. She will be among the 128 contestants from all over the world who will compete for the title.
