Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting their second child, Kensington Palace announced this morning.
Kate and William’s first child Prince George was born July 22, 2013.
In a statement, Clarence House said the Duke and Duchess were “very pleased” to announce the news about their second child and the Queen and other members of both families are “delighted”.
Sadly, Kate is suffering from severe morning sickness as with her first pregnancy. The statement continued: “Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.”
Prime Minister David Cameron offered his congratulations to the couple, saying: “Many congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. I’m delighted by the happy news that they’re expecting another baby.”
The couple’s second child will become fourth in line to the throne, therefore shifting Prince Harry further down in the line of succession.
