Actor Michael Jace has been taken into police custody after admitting to shooting dead his wife of ten years at their suburban Los Angeles home.
Jace shot wife April, 40, in the presence of their two primary school-age children on the evening of May 19, then called 911 to confess to the killing. Neighbours in the Hyde Park area of south Los Angeles had already called police saying that shots had been fired inside the Jace’s home. Jace was taken away and later charged.
Three children – one from April Jace’s previous marriage – have been placed in protective custody.
After minor roles in several movies, 48-year-old Michael Jace is probably best known for playing Officer Julien Lowe, the sexually conflicted black cop in The Shield. He also played Michael Jordan in a 1999 made-for-TV movie about the basketball legend.
