Rapper Lil’ Kim is in a dispute with nightclub bosses for allegedly failing to turn up to a meet-and-greet.
The hip-hop star performed at The Manor venue in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Saturday but angered officials when she missed a scheduled fan-meeting session before the gig.
According to a contract obtained by TMZ.com, the rapper had agreed to mingle with up to 100 paying fans before a 20-minute performance to celebrate the gay club’s fifth anniversary.
Bosses at The Manor allege they are now forced to give refunds to those who had paid an extra $65 to meet the star.
Lil’ Kim, real name Kimberly Denise Jones, claims she did not know about the event, writing on Twitter, “Fort Lauderdale. I love y’all so much. S— was LIT 2night!!! Please get ur $$$ back from the club. I never knew about a meet n greet.” In response, the club posted a copy of the contract supporting its position on its Facebook page.
Howard King, an attorney for the club, told TMZ.com he plans to sue the rapper, who was paid $23,000 for the night. He claims Kim already got her comeuppance … because concertgoers booed her when she left the club.
Kim, now 40, gave birth to a baby girl, Royal Reign, in June and last month she released her Hard Core mixtape.
