By Eugene Smith – A collaboration between Lambeth Council and the Black Cultural Archives has brought together, various Ambassadors from the Caribbean, Caricom to lay flowers at the African Caribbean Memorial at the Windrush Square Brixton to celebrate Windrush Day.
Nubian Jak (Jak Bellua) the designer and founder of the African Caribbean Memorial was also invited.
Windrush Day, is now a recognised day, celebrating people from the Caribbean, Africa and other Commonwealth countries, who were invited to the UK over 50 years ago, to help rebuild the United Kingdom, after the turmoil of WWII.
