Call for nominations: 23rd African Film Awards 2019

The African Voice Newspapers UK the organisers of the annual African Film Awards has announced the start of the nomination process for 2019 edition. Act now the deadline for entries is 20th September 2019

 

 

The greatest of the greatest African film industry collaboration is about to happen in London this November 2019. Filmmakers from across Europe, the best from Nollywood, Kannywood and best of African cinema will converge under one roof in London to celebrate excellence at the annual Africa’s best film industry awards. The 23rd African Film Awards is set to rock London on Saturday 2nd November 2019.

Nominations into various categories are now open

You can nominate yourself, your film, your favourite actors, supporting actors, directors, producers, cinematographers etc. Send your entries to marketing@africanvoiceonline.co.uk  with the following details:

Nominees will be considered under the following categories:

African Film in (English Language category)

  1. Best African Actor of the Year
  2. Best African Actress of the Year
  3. Best African Film (in different Language category)
  4. Best Director (African Film)
  5. Best Producer (African Film)

African Film in (Different Language category)

  1. Best Director
  2. Best Actress
  3. Best Actor
  4. Best Producer
  5. Best Actress in Supporting Role
  6. Best Actor in Supporting Role
  7. Best Short Film (Feature)
  8. Best short film (Animated)
  9. Best Comedy Act

UK Productions

A film will be considered as a UK feature or short if produced/directed by a UK based filmmaker.

The following categories will be considered from the fast-growing (UK Nollywood):

  1. Best Actress in Lead Role
  2. Best Actor in Lead Role
  3. Best Actor in Supporting Role
  4. Best Actress in Supporting Role
  5. Best ScreenPlay
  6. Best Feature Films
  7. Best indigenous movie

  9. Best Executive Producer(Special Category)
  10. Best Director
  11. Best Actress (TV Series)
  12. Best Actress in Supporting Role (TV Series)
  13. Best Actor (TV Series)
  14. Best Actor in Supporting Role (TV Series)
  15. Best Short Films

Notification of selected works/full list of finalists

The selection process will be finalised and announced by end of August via email to all those shortlisted. The full list will be published on the website of African Voice Newspapers UK, the organisers of the annual awards.
