One of Africa’s leading female Afro Soul musician, Aramide Sarumo who got married to the love of her life Pelumi some few years ago has released the musical video for her single titled ‘Why So Serious’.
The video features singer, Minjin who portrays a lover boy trying to get on with a woman played by actress, Lota Chukwu who doesn’t feel the same way for him. ‘Why So Serious’ is a single from Aramide’s debut album, Suitcase.
‘Aramide’ The ‘Funmi Lowo’ (give me my money) singer took the entertainment industry by surprise when she won the Best Vocal Performance (Female) at the 2015 edition of Headies.and she was hosted to a celebration party in Calgary, Canada.
One of her singles ‘Love Me’ featuring ‘Orente’ crooner, Adekunle Gold, has topped various music charts in the last quarter of 2016 offering her the opportunity to clinch the Alternative Artiste of the year 2016 in the annual Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA).
Aramide, a graduate of Political Science from the University of Jos, first hit the limelight in 2014 with her hit song “Iwo Nikan”.
The multi-talented songwriter, who equally plays the saxophone and guitar, started her music career in 2006 at the `Star Quest’, a music talent show as 3rd Runners Up of the contestant.
She was also part of the “Diva Unplugged’’ show in Jos in 2014. Aramide is currently signed to Baseline Music.
