By Eugene Smith – A new Plaque in tribute to Nigerian Activist and Godfather of Afro-Beat Fela Kuti was unveiled in London.

On the first day of November 2021, the Nubian Jak Community Trust in the United Kingdom has once again honoured late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti with another new plaque.

The first plaque was placed earlier this year at the music college in Greenwich where Fela studied music in the 1950’s.

This latest plaque is erected at the house where Fela lived while studying music. Stanlake Road Shepards Bush, Hammersmith London W12 was a home to the Afro beat legend.

It was a warm fun loving crowd that gathered to show their respect, love and appreciation for Fela and his music.

Fela’s Afro Beat was played throughout the ceremony to the delight of the attendees.
