Troubled R&B songstress Angie Stone has been arrested after knocking out her daughter’s front teeth, it has been revealed.
The 53-year-old told police in DeKalb County, Georgia that she was being attacked by 30-year-old Diamond Stone and a metal stand she was using to defend herself accidentally hit Diamond in the face.
Angie told police she put down the stand and tried to flee once she realised what had happened, but claims Diamond came after her again. Blondy Chisolm, a family friend, eventually broke up the fight.
Diamond, the Mahogany Soul singer’s daughter from her marriage to hip-hop artist Rodney Stone, told police the argument started when her mother “got in [her] face” to complain Diamond didn’t clean up after her children.
Diamond was also taken into custody, but eventually released without charge.
Angie Stone is best known for her albums Black Diamond (1999) and Mahogany Soul (2001) and the single releases Brotha, No More Rain and Wish I Didn’t Miss You So Much. This week’s incident is not her first run-in with law enforcement. In 2011, she was arrested and spent time in custody for speeding and driving on a suspended licence.
