African Voice goes into circulation in Nigeria

By Milton Tella – Exactly 23 years ago, the African Voice newspaper hit the newsstand in London and has since changed the narratives of the ethnic minorities in Britain.

Today, Monday, 15 April 2024, African Voice Newspaper begins its Nigerian operations by circulating in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria. 

Publisher and Editor in Chief of African Voice newspaper, Prince Mike Abiola, said, “The publication has been providing a voice for the ethnic minority communities in the UK, with Nigeria at a critical junction in its economic development, the new operations of the newspaper in Nigeria hopes to serve as a bridge between Nigeria and those in the diaspora, as well as encourage the promotion of trade and investment between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.” 


The African Voice newspaper will be available for free pickup at various locations starting with Abuja and Lagos and soft copy will be available for download by subscribers on its website.


The African Voice newspaper has been a vehicle to highlight the significant contributions of Africans in Britain. The newspaper has supported the film industry in Africa through its annual African Film Awards formerly known as Afro Hollywood Awards for 23 years and still running. African Voice newspaper has particularly supported the growth of Nollywood, the Nigeria film industry and has impacted the careers of practitioners in the industry.  

Expanding into Nigeria is to further help to bridge the gap between Nigeria and those in the Diaspora.

Majority of Nigerians in the diaspora are willing to invest in their country of origin especially in the areas of agriculture & agro processing, infrastructure, renewable energy, digital economy, real estate, mining and the creative industry. African Voice is hoping to provide the information through its print copies and all online platforms.
