Sean Kingston has settled out of court with a 22-year-old woman who alleged the singer gang raped her in his hotel room after a 2010 concert performance.

Carissa Capeloto accused Kingston, 23, of participating in the assault along with his bodyguard and a member of his band after he had guest performed at a Justin Bieber concert. Ms Capeloto alleges she as invited to Kingston’s room for what she thought was an opportunity to “meet and greet” celebrities. She admitted to being “obviously intoxicated and incapable of consent” to what transpired. She had filed a $5 million civil lawsuit.

Kingston’s representatives are keen to point out that the out-of-court settlement is not an admission of guilt.

“Her story wasn’t consistent,” said a Kingston camp insider. “She told various stories throughout her interviews with police … The medical report had no indications of force.”

The source said the rapper/singer settled for an undisclosed amount because he doesn’t have time for a trial due to his upcoming tour and album release.

“Focus on what matters the most to you! And that’s my music!!” Kingston tweeted on Saturday (August 31), along with an Instagram pic of the cover art for his new album, Back 2 Life.

Despite the settlement, Kingston is still running into trouble from the lawsuit. The University of Western Ontario cancelled his September 7 performance for their orientation week because of a “zero tolerance for sexual assault.”

“Having Mr. Kingston perform could cloud the values surrounding O-Week,” a school rep told popular music website TMZ.
