African Voice newspaper, first published in September 2001 in the United Kingdom has been representing the interest of British ethnic communities as a weekly title since its inception.
In a drive to further reinforce the efforts of the newspaper at integrating the ethnic communities. African Voice newspaper celebrating close to two decades of community service is partnering with corporate organisations and selected individuals to serve as brand Ambassadors.
These Ambassadors are drawn from various African ethnic communities made up of accomplished, respected and committed individuals who are ready to support the newspaper to further its effort at championing the cause of the African community in the United Kingdom.
African Voice Ambassadors are as follow: Cllr Joy Laguda, HRH Princess Moradeun Adedoyin, Dr. Dayo Olomu, Prof. Rotimi Jaiyesimi, Yemisi Jenkins MBE, Mavis Amakwah, Jenny Okafor, Ayan De First, Dennis Thaiwah, Stella Ideh, Cllr. Sunny Lambe, Prof. Chris Imafidon, Ronke Adeagbo, Dr. Abbey Akinoshun, Ronke Udofia, Ade Daramy, Ayo Oyebade, Prince Tade Olusile, Susie Retty, Dr. Ruth Oshinkalu, Iyamide Thomas, Vicky Osei, Cllr. Susan Fajana-Thomas, Chief Akintokunbo Adejumo, Ronke Lawal and Amir Bagwanje.
The African Voice Newspaper in its maiden edition in 2001, promised to be a powerful vehicle to communicate the achievements and contributions of Africans living in the UK.
The founder and publisher of African Voice, Prince Mike Abiola said, “The events of this historic year 2020, such as the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on the British ethnic minorities, especially Africans and the subsequent racism highlighted by the Public Health England reports, the death of George Floyd in the United States of America and the Black Lives Matter movement worldwide make it imperative for the African community in the United Kingdom to unite and have a strong voice”.
The 19th year celebration, which will be a virtual event via zoom will be on broadcast on YouTube and Facebook. The one hour and thirty minutes webinar will be held between 12.30pm – 2.00pm London time on Saturday 19 September 2020.
