MANSAG on healthcare fact-finding mission to Nigeria

In preparation for the 30th annual Conference & Charity Ball in London slated for 25th–27th October, a delegation of the Medical Association of Nigerians Across Great Britain (MANSAG) went on a fact finding mission to Nigeria to access first-hand challenges of the public and private healthcare providers in Africa’s most populous nation.

The team was received in federal capital territory, Abuja by Hon. Abike Dabiri Erewa, Chairman, Nigeria Diaspora Commission, Alhaji Abdulaziz Abdullahi, Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Health and Dr (Mrs) Bola Olowu, Director in Charge of Public Private Partnership and Diaspora Unit of the Federal Ministry of Health in Abuja, Nigeria.

The delegation visited the Honourable Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Emmanuel Ehanire at the Secretariat, Federal Ministry of Health to brief him on the planned programme in London and the assurance of MANSAG to continue to collaborate and share expertise with Nigeria.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Senator (Dr) Ibrahim Oloriegbe also received the MANSAG members at the National Assembly, Abuja.

 

The 3 day trip provided the members the opportunity to review some of the ongoing collaborations in Nigeria. MANSAG currently supports UHC in Nigeria. Other places visited by the team include SHI-Sustainable Healthcare International in Abuja.
