Mozambique’s national assembly has passed a new law to end Child marriage in the country as Zuriel Oduwole Lends Her Voice after meeting President Filipe Nyusi.

This is seen as a critical step in ensuring gender equality, and the emergence into productive womanhood, of the country and continents human capacity for development.

Fifteen months ago, Zuriel Oduwole presented her annual DUSUSU awards to Mozambique’s First lady Isaura Nyusi in Maputo, for her work in fighting for the rights of girls. Zuriel Presents her Annual DUSUSU Awards to Mozambique First Lady

While in the country and after visiting Mozambique schools, she politely asked to meet with President Filipe Nyusi to make her case for girls education even more personally – a request that was granted just 12 hours later, before she left the country.

Zuriel epitomizes the powerful voice of an educated girl, and the evidence of the need to ensure all girls across the continent and the globe are free from life’s discrimination of education, opportunities, and personal development, so the world can fight its battles for growth and development with two hands, instead of one.
