GAB excites Manchester based professionals

As the organisers of the annual Gathering of Africa’s Best (GAB) unveils the list of finalists for the awards coming up on Saturday 27 January 2018 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Manchester Piccadilly, excitement has reached high pitch among nominees in Manchester, North West, England.

The Manchester edition of the 19th Gathering of Africa’s Best (GAB) Awards, is to witness a cross-section of individuals and organisations from various spheres of life, who have been contributing to the positive image of Africa and Africans compete for honours.

On the list of those to be honoured is Dr Erinma Bell MBE a co-founder and chair of CARISMA – Community Alliance for Renewal Inner South Manchester Area. CARISMA has become a front-line community-based group, originally set up by the community for the community to offer life-chances for young people.  Erinma held the position of Staff Development Officer at Save the Children for up to 10 years before going freelance.  Erinma has a BA Hons degree in Psychology and Advanced Early Years and a Postgraduate Certificate in Urban Education.

Femi Okutubo, the Chairman of the awards committee said, “From almost 100 entries received, the list has been whittled down to about 30 Finalists from among whom Award Recipients will be announced on Saturday 27 January 2018 at a prestigious event holding at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Manchester Piccadilly. The Recipients will receive a GAB Award for Excellence”.

The GAB Awards was established in 1999 by Trumpet Media Group as a way of rewarding excellence among Africans and Friends of Africa around the world who are enhancing the image of the continent.
