Old students of Nigerian secondary schools in the United Kingdom under the banner of the Nigerian Schools Foundation (NSF) UK will hold their 5th Annual Sports & Family Fun Day on Bank Holiday, Sunday August 28th 2016 at Allianz Park, Greenlands Lane, Hendon, London NW4 1RL.

Bimbola Babarinde Chairman of (NSF) UK said, “This is a new Weather proof venue. Previous editions were held in Bromley, South London. The main Sponsor for this year’s Event is Microsystems International (UK) Ltd. Other sponsors include Lebara, Obaseki Solicitors, Hilton Hotels and Olu-Olu Foods.”

The inaugural annual event of the NSF took place at the end of the London Olympics in 2012. It was attended by over 700 people of different nationalities, ages and backgrounds. Various representatives of Nigerian ‘Old School Students Associations’  participated and competed in the different athletic  and family fun events ranging from Relay Race, Tug of War, 100m, 200, Long Jump, amongst others. The event had live music entertainment, food and drink, exhibitions of variety of businesses and charities. The event has grown to be bigger and better year on year. In 2014 it won the coveted NEA ‘Outstanding Event of the Year’ Award. This year’s event will be opened by the Worshipful Mayor of Barnet.

Interested parties can still place advertisements in the NSF Event Brochure 2016. Sponsorships are encouraged from Nigeria-based organisations that wish to attract investments from the Nigerians in Diaspora. Also, there is an opportunity to secure Exhibition Stalls on the day.  Other Nigerian School Alumni Associations are encouraged to join NSF (UK). The event will be streamed live to a global audience.

Established in April 2012, the Nigerian Schools Foundation (NSF) UK is a collaboration of UK-based Alumni Associations of Nigerian Schools. Its primary purpose is to establish a global platform for social interaction, through sporting and educational activities, of ‘Old Boys and Old Girls’ who studied in Nigerian Secondary Schools.  It seeks to promote the need to maintain the previous high educational standards of Nigerian Secondary Schools. In summary, it works to Connect Nigerians, Promote Awareness and Develop Communities. NSF (UK) currently comprises of 30 UK-based Alumni Associations of Nigerian Schools.
