London will host the glamorous annual African Film Awards which promote and honour excellence in Nollywood, Best of African Cinema and Black British Stars in Film & Television on Saturday, 5th November, 2016 at the Old Stratford Town Hall, 29 The Broadway, Stratford London E15 4BQ from 6.00pm till late.

The African Voice Newspaper UK, organisers of this most prestigious African film industry awards, has finalised the list of films for consideration and the names of nominees in different awards categories for the special 20th anniversary edition.

The awards is expected to be the biggest gathering of industry practitioners, top leading Black British filmmakers and Nollywood stars will be honoured. The glamourous evening will provide opportunities for networking with high net-worth individuals, film investors and experts in the film industry.

African Film Awards otherwise known as Afro Hollywood Awards has honoured over 300 recipients since its inception in 1996. The awards have served the purposes of promoting and advancing the dynamic growth of Africa’s Film and Arts in Europe, especially in the United Kingdom uniting the Africans and Caribbean communities.

Prince Mike Abiola, founder of the African Film Awards said, “The 20th Special Awards Ceremony will be honouring recipients in 20 awards categories. Lovers of the fast growing film industry in Africa, Nollywood will have the opportunity to celebrate with their favourite stars in this year’s Parade of Stars.”

Mike further added that ‘the evening of glamour, comedy, dinner, music and dance will also witness the launch of the African Film Awards Hall of Fame (online) & a hard covered colourful compendium of Honours List.’

The 20th Anniversary edition of the African Film Awards will be attended by top UK government officials, diplomats, head of multi-national organisations, delegations from Hollywood, Bollywood, BAFTA, BFI, practitioners from different African countries and film enthusiasts.
