Fire Under My Feet is the lead single from forthcoming album I Am, her first for Island Records. iTunes customers will be able to buy the track from June 7 in advance of its general release on June 29.

The new single is being described as a jaunty pop number in line with Leona’s burning ambition to continue as one of the UK’s best vocalists in this new phase of her career.

The track was co-written by Leona with Toby Gad, and during a recent live performance the star even took to the piano to perform it.

Island Records head Darcus Beese recently said he is hoping for an “ambitious” global campaign after Lewis signed with Def Jam in the US.

Leona’s new album serves as the follow-up to 2012’s Glassheart, although the singer did release festive collection Christmas, with Love in 2013.
