With the world paying close attention to Barack Obama’s momentous official visit to Cuba, the Obama girls’ style has unsurprisingly been a strong one.

During their trip to Havana — the first presidential trip to Cuba in 88 years, Michelle Obama followed up a state dinner and sightseeing trip by taking her two daughters to a tree-planting ceremony at a local public library, before meeting dad an Major League Baseball exhibition game on Tuesday.

The First Family had already started strong on Sunday when they arrived on the island: Michelle wore a Carolina Herrera A-line that boasted the colours of the Cuban and American flags; Malia paired her ASOS skater dress with white ‘flatform’ (flat platform, obviously) trainers, and Sasha accessorized her knit Shoshanna with a simple black choker.

When her daughters were off-duty, the First Lady still had official business to attend to, and she did so in style (naturally). For a state dinner, she selected an embroidered floral V-neck dress by Naeem Khan (the same designer her daughters just wore to their first U.S. state dinner!), and for an event to promote her Let Girls Learn education initiative, she chose a bold print wrap dress with an armful of bangles, keeping the focus on her — and her important message.
