The Ghana Football Association has refused to rule out injured Kevin-Prince Boateng for next Tuesday’s 2014 World Cup playoff first leg against Egypt.

The Schalke playmaker picked up a knee injury on Saturday during the 4-1 win over Augsburg in Bundesliga where he scored the opener.

The 26-year-old underwent MRI Scans on Sunday but the results were inconclusive.

But the Ghana FA has watered down circling reports that Boateng will sit out the crucial assignment on 15 October.

“We are looking forward to him. He is still undergoing his recuperation and we are hoping that he will join the team before the match,” Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi said.

Ghana look depleted after centre back duo John Boye and Jonathan Mensah picked up injuries and midfielder Mohammed Rabiu also sidelined.
